This specialized track of the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Postdoctoral Scholar Awards Program supports postdoctoral researchers to pursuing creative research projects with the potential to generate insights on neurodegeneration and clues for maintaining cognitive health as we age.

Program Tracks
Brain Resilience Scholars Track
The Brain Resilience Postdoctoral Scholars track Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute Postdoctoral Scholar Awards supports trainees generating paradigm-shifting insights on the mechanisms of neurodegeneration and how to maintain brain resilience into old age.
Interdisciplinary Scholars Track
The long-standing Interdisciplinary Scholars Track supports scientists engaged in cutting-edge research in the neurosciences at the intersection of multiple disciplines
Funding
This program offers two years of fellowship funding, which includes parental leave. Postdocs also receive discretionary research funds to support their projects.
Mentorship
Scholars meet monthly with their cohort and program faculty mentorsMiriam Goodman and Paul George to share ideas, address research challenges, and collaborate on techniques. These meetings encourage knowledge exchange across disciplines and help scholars develop communication skills for both scientific and public audiences.
Community
Brain Resilience Scholars attend Knight Initiative events and present their work at our monthly seminars. They are stewarded by Knight Initiative faculty mentorElizabeth Mormino to learn from one another and build a community around neurodegeneration and brain resilience.
Diversity
Both program tracks foster diversity by bringing together postdocs from various backgrounds, experiences, and research areas. We strongly encourage applications from women and individuals underrepresented in neuroscience.
